1. Introduction
Script2Set ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Ron Reynolds LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our pre-production tool for filmmakers. We are committed to complying with applicable privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Economic Area, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and similar regulations.
2. Data We Collect
We collect and process the following categories of data:
- Account data: Email address, name, and profile information when you sign up. This is processed by Clerk (our authentication provider).
- Project data: Scripts, scenes, shot lists, storyboards, and related content you create. This is stored in Supabase (our database provider).
- AI processing: Scene content (headings and body text) is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate shot suggestions. Google does not use this data to train models.
- Local storage: We use browser localStorage and sessionStorage to improve your experience (e.g., remembering your workspace and app state). This data stays on your device.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely to provide and improve Script2Set: to authenticate you, store your projects, generate shot lists via AI, and deliver the service you request. We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing to third parties.
4. Legal Basis (GDPR)
For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, we process your data on the following bases: (a) Contract—to perform our agreement to provide Script2Set; (b) Legitimate interests—to operate, secure, and improve our service; and (c) Consent—where we explicitly ask for it (e.g., optional features).
5. Data Processors
We use the following sub-processors, each of which has committed to appropriate data protection measures:
- Clerk — Authentication (US; Data Privacy Framework certified)
- Supabase — Database and storage (US)
- Google (Gemini API) — AI shot generation (US; Cloud Data Processing Addendum)
6. International Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries. We rely on adequacy decisions, the Data Privacy Framework, and standard contractual clauses where required to ensure appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification — Correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — Request deletion of your data
- Portability — Receive your data in a structured format
- Restriction — Limit how we process your data
- Object — Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent — Where processing is based on consent
California residents: You also have the right to know what we collect, the right to delete, and the right to non-discrimination. We do not sell personal information.

8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. After you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes.
9. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our providers (Clerk, Supabase, Google) maintain industry-standard security practices.
10. Children
Script2Set is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated via email or a notice in the app.
